Going may not have helped. Drop in distance may not have helped. Reasonably quick turnaround from a classic may not have helped. Facing her elders may not have helped. Probably bang average may not have helped. Magic parsnips don't last forever DEFINITELY has not helped.

It did look a poor Oaks beforehand, a G2 masquerading as a G1. I hope to see something a bit special in the Irish Derby though Cool

Lots of people getting carried away by the winner here, let's see how she gets on later in the season.

It didn't look the greatest of renewals beforehand and there were some that obviously didn't stay and/or act on the ground.

I certainly wouldn't be in a rush to Lay if the fav encounters soft ground later on

I'm sure she will still be a force if encountering the kind of conditions Oaks day provided.

I just thought some of the comments about her straight after the race were a tad OTT.

But we all have our opinions and its good that we can express them Grin

It's funny I don't remember too many of the cheerleaders who went completely overboard mentioning it might be a rubbish Oaks run on testing ground.

another classic winner found out, and ill say here now like last year there wont be many 3 year old group1 winners coming from coolmore  against their elders  bow echo will dominate the milers, ombudsman unbeatable and 12 furlong the elders will dominate,

With it looking likely that today's Derby winner will run in the Irish Champion Stakes it would've been nice to see Ombudsman keep the entry as well. But York seems to be Gosden's priority atm.

Looks like James L Braddock was being fed the same diet of parsnips before Epsom, slickster! When they wear off they wear off in style!I'm sure Jim Bolger would have something to say on the matter(I don't think he's a great fan of that chancer,Blake, either)

They’ll say the ground was the key like they did Ben. There’s always an excuse!

Do horses only cough after the race? Confused
By:

If the horse coughed before the race it would not have run.

I’m sure that it wouldn’t have, after all they ran Ben in the Derby knowing it’d hate the ground and track!

But was ridden out the back and looked after best they could!

And was declared a non runner! Laugh

What a bonus!
