His appeal for an 8-day suspension for riding to team tactic in the St James's Palace Stakes is today. Will it be upheld, reduced or rescinded? Will AOB be there personally?

I hope the BHA is very well prepared given the financial power of Coolmore.  The reputation and integrity of AOB, Coolmore and Horseracing UK are on the line.

The horse made a noise. Utter tosh! The hearing has been adjourned to next week. What a disgrace? It was a cut and shut case. But, this is AOB and Coolmore, the behemoth of horseracing. A minnow would have been strung up, quartered and punished with a longer suspension given the race was a Group 1.

Very disappointed with Mr Soumillon.

Anyone would think Soumillon pushed all the jocks off their mounts.

He was a pacemaker.

Did his job as a pacemaker.

Ran three off the rail the whole way, leaving a gap for his stable mate.

Seen it countless times before.

He will get the ban overturned.

Deluding yourself brandy. Yes the mafia do it all the time, no they don't ordinarily make it so bleedin' obvious that it couldn't be ignored by the feds.

He may well get off, as authorities and decision makers are getting progressively feeble.

Glad he didn't win too, Irons.

I like Aidan, but Magnier is a vile person.

And no one enjoys domination, seeing the same crowd win over and over again.

But Soumillon was three off the rail from the gate, he will use that in his defence, and have his ban reduced or get off Scott free.

What a load of French baloney? School children caused him to swing wide away from the rail. Pull the other one Mr Soumillon.

The alleged 50 school children did not cause Moore on Gstaad to not get to the rail though. On this absurd reason I hope Soumillon has his original punishment of 8 days increased to 3 months instead.

A Belgian waffle indeed. How the hell can he say that? Whose idea was it, AOB or Coolmore? He was caught red-handed executing a misdemeanour in horseracing / horseriding solely to facilitate his stablemate. This lame and foolish excuse has made him look a fool. He's made things 10x worse.

I think this foolish excuse / statement has sealed his fate. Holiday in Afghanistan or Iraq for him.

you couldnt make it up ..

The panel said: "We are satisfied that there was a breach on the basis that [Soumillon] rode Puerto Rico in such away which gave an advantage to Gstaad, a horse from the same stable. For the avoidance of doubt, we are not satisfied that he intended so to do.

A cop out, I say. So the Belgian waffle rode an injudicious race similar to an amateur or conditioner jockey without the intent to assist his stablemate. It just so happened that he did assist Gstaad (unintentionally). But, Mr Soumillon is a senior and experienced jockey.

I believe a jockey who infringes the limit on the use of the whip could get 5 days or more. This was team tactic to assist another horse from the same stable.

But, try as much as AOB / Coolmore did to win the SJP it would be a travesty if Gstaad had won the race. Horseracing is not a team sport and a stablemate cannot be used to facilitate a favourable outcome or hinder that of the opposition regardless.
