I am wondering when the trainers will all have the courage to make it clear that they are not going to be interviewed before a race if Matt is there. Ed Walker was polite to him but walked away looking like thunder and shaking his head as so many trainers do. Separately they would be criticised for ignoring Matt but collectively they could and should boycott the nasty man.

He has worked 8 consecutive days with a voice that sounds like it will go at any minute (as it frequently does). Not sure what he is on but he is heading for ill health if he carries on as he does.

He is not that bad really and sometimes he asks the right questions and is entertaining, but and it is a big but he can be very over the top and really annoying, you can say it is enthusiasm but at times it is far too much, you can see why he got the sack from dancing on ice.

I will speak up for Chappers,he knows his stuff, quite happy to watch him and enjoy. For those old enough to remember the bad days of Big John M ,what a breath of fresh air Matt is.Ask Hazel Irvine about Big bad John .

Look when he takes up serious issues he is one of the best around but he needs to reign in the clown act, leave that to Harvey. I understand that presenting the dross that racing dishes up day to day must be boring and you need to motivate yourself to do it but bawling and shouting at times is not the way.

Insulting trainers at every opportunity is the worst way to get them to engage in serious conversation. They are deep in thought about the next race in which they have a runner and may not be in the mood for silly banter.

I dont think he 'insults' trainers, trainers can walk away if they wish and some actively engage in it and see it for what it is, just a bit of banter.

Well past it imv, bawling, screaming, squawking, shaking, jumping with veins popping like rhubarb…..humour with owner, trainer and rider is as wet as a beavers pocket tbh……
Salutes when others are talking….a million to be in a relationship imo. |

He took a leaf out of McFatso's M/O in being controversial.
Nevertheless,he has a good knowledge of the sport and is not afraid to ask awkward questions unlike the vast majority |

I find him highly annoying, and it's clear many trainers do not like to be approached by him. Maybe ITV want him to be as brash as possible and like another Big Mac pantomime bad guy. He knows his stuff but presentation style so OTT.
