winners moved a yard left 1 out gave 2nd a sl nudge..didnt cost 2nd momentum and had plenty time if good enough..very harsh to disq imo.

Really should keep it, but you can make a case for a reversal so couldn't risk betting the winner to keep it at 1.08ish

Could have gone on another day. I'm swaying towards US rules coming in here. Eliminates more of the doubt.

If the second was level or slightly ahead at point of contact, then fell behind , why should she have 'had enough time' to remake up the deficit, as without the nudge there'd be no deficit to make up.

Had the result been reversed then plenty of others would have been complaining...

And that is why the UK is in such a horrible mess nowadays.

From horse racing to football to politics to business, nobody is willing to accept a decision that does not suit them without first stiring up some trouble and debate.

Honestly, as a nation we need to grow and accept the referee's / stewards decisions are final- and then move on. .

Eventually, nobody will be wiling to take on any roles where the public snipe at their decisions.

With horse raciong let us go back to the old days where virtually any offence was a D/Q. But no, the public didn't like that so we have ended up with a mish-mash where the rules are differently interprted on different days.

The farce of the Derby non-runner was a great example. Re-introduce 'Under Starters Orders' where, once all horses are in, the stalls are psrt of the race and if a horse makes a hash in the stalls, so be it.
