Both put up Mezcala. The form book would suggest the ground is a big concern. Do they know something the form book doesn't? Contrast that with Royal Velvet who has plenty of form on the ground, but has been very weak.

Marquand lost on the horse twice before, easily worst run on good to firm. As for Royal Velvet, eventually halved in price, never at the races, and I think beat three home.

Oddschecker early to mid-afternoon the day before, probably, if you think about when Segal has to write the column in time to get it to the printers for the early editions (and onto the website by six).

How many people got on at 14-1 though? In the 90's when Pricewise was a thing bookies would stand the price - not anymore. Pricewise is just a marketing tool for the RP.

True, although these days you often can get on because Pricewise no longer moves the market to the extent it did, if at all.
