Notable Speech great bet at 2/1.
Great Barrier Reef no chance.

Incredible how little an alleged punter knows about value Laugh

Now you know why I dissed horseracing pundits. Most are no better than the good recreational punters.

4x the price it was a short while ago for a yard where the alleged second string pings in many a winner, and he's making it a huge lay and saying it has "zero chance" Laugh

If Ryan Moore tipped heads in a coin flip we could probably get 5/2 tails with him Laugh

Funny bloke no doubt but completely clueless punter.

Johnny Dineen - professional punter, in the name of all that's holy how can this professional chancer be taken seriously! Notable Speech, Dineen's best bet of the meeting at around 2/1 and Great Barrier Reef a great Lay not just in the win market but a great Lay in the Place market. What a waste of space this chancer is. Way past time this joker was unmasked and sent packing!

Johnny made it pay for years as a bookie , switching roles is never easy , to say he's clueless is harsh . He gave his opinion and it cost him a little like a lot of us on here I'd say..
Report Angela Rebecchi June 16, 2026 3:39 PM BST
Of course he is clueless. Being a bookie (if you are able to get a pitch) is very easy as so many low IQ people out there punting at hideous odds.
Report workrider June 16, 2026 3:42 PM BST
In Ireland we don't have a sixth of the odds unlike the U.K. Irish punters wouldn't have a bet with you at those odds , so Johnny was compeating on level terms

I like listening to Johnnys  stories but take his tips with a pinch of salt.

It used to be. cash cow central when there was still loads on money on the track, and it could be hedged on the 'machine'. Including the 'offices' trying to squeeze SPs.

Depends on the context. Setting one up and attracting customers is difficult, without question. Pricing a book and taking money from low IQ customers on hideously priced bets is very easy once you've got the set up and traction.

Report workrider June 16, 2026 4:15 PM BST
Thanks for the comfirmation Angela the Brits would except any odds offered..
Report Busyfool June 16, 2026 4:17 PM BST
rubbish upon rubbish

making a book isnt that tricky but getting low iq customers like you to take unders is difficult. the mugs are usually 2 quid punters and bookie exes are considerable. and many are on the phone

few are coming into the game, mostly the opposite

i know several who are getting out or already have

Yup. Brit racegoers or punters in general are very low IQ, which is why Denise makes as much as she does bud !

Busyfool I tanked a bookie over here at one time so have a little insight into the game, on my travels to the U.K. in recent years I was staggered to witness people lining up to back at 1/6 each way I'm even sure i seen a guy at Ripon go 1/7 on a race and people still bet with him...I agree with you that its a tough game for many these days..
Report Busyfool June 16, 2026 4:31 PM BST
i very much doubt anyone looking to bet ew at 1/6 is having fortunes on so its unlikely it will be a bonanza for the book

some people just like to back a winner and going back to the layer waving a ticket

if there was good money in it Little and Fletcher wouldn't have packed in 20 years ago.  Look at SD on YT  plenty of pensioners laying.
