We are in the eve of the great racing spectacular from Royal Berkshire.
Here’s a general place for thoughts, fancies, lays and plays. Hopefully more for celebrating than just venting, poor rides or over watering, but all welcome! Let’s hope that it’s a good one! |

In the Queen Anna Burke talked about stepping up to 10f immediately after the Lockinge for Zeuss. Which I’d said was odd considering the stiff mile at Ascot more likely to suit.
That can be said the same about Damysus and I’m not surprised that money has come for him. The mile at Ascot looks made for him. I think that the Lockinge was straight track experience and Doyle is a good judge of pace on a straight track. - Last Run – 5/12 winners won on their last run before the Queen Anne Stakes, 9/12 winners ran within the last 38 days 6/12 winners ran in the Lockinge Stakes (Newbury) on their last run, 3 of the 6 won, 1 placed (2 winners were unplaced in the Lockinge.) Newbury was always going to suit Notable Speech more as it’s like Deauville, a pancake mile for speed. Last year 100/1 shot Cairo filled the frame and given the slow gallop I don’t see why he couldn’t finish in front of that even with trouble in running. Short price no thanks. This stat is against Damysus but it’s also against More Thunder, but there’s a big price difference. Previous Distance Form – 12/12 winners had at least 4 previous runs over 8 furlongs, 11/12 winners had at least 2 previous wins over 8 furlongs, 7/12 winners had at least 3 previous wins over 8 furlongs |

I did the each way extra 5th place on NIGHT IN VEGAS, she only got beat about a length in total having been out the back after a furlong
365 offered 6/4 BOW ECHO so that was good The OBrien horse was having his 3rd run of the season, whereas BOW ECHO was racing for the 2nd time, first time he had to battle so you’d think he’d be super fit now All the best |
|
By:
365 and Sky pushed OMBUDSMAN out to 2/1, thanks very much
ALTA REGINA wasn’t given the greatest of rides, she wouldn’t have beaten the winner today but don’t write her of LINWOOD a non runner All the best |
|
By:
Agree re Alta. Jockey kindve gave up at one stage then started riding again. Definitely should have been placed.
