For services to Horse Racing, Well deserved for his riding. Just wish he was more amiable with the press and public.

There are absolutely loads of grumpy/rude people out there. Some of them
just happen to be very good at their jobs and become famous.
Lots of TV presenters pretend to be happy smiley people, fakes.
He doesn't bother faking it.

Being good at your job does not mean you are good at being likeable.
He could pretend, yes.

What services has he done for Racing, does not want to talk, which is his prerogative, however he sees it as a business and as such his talents are well paid, however not sure what services he has offered to racing.

That's where I am with it all.

The top jockey of his generation who rides for Coolmore

Its hardly services to racing though.

I think, Saddo, that whilst you are undoubtedly correct in part, nobody is asking him to be a comedian, or behave like Dettori. However, there are times when he is just plain rude. He would be better off not agreeing to interviews than treating some of those who try with barely concealed contempt.  It is noteworthy, imho, that when interviewed by those in Ireland he is demonstrably more polite. This shows, I think, that his approach  is deliberate , not simply part of his unalterable character.

Of course, it's based on his perceived credibility of the interviewer. Not an Ireland/England thing, but most post race interviews in Ireland will be rtv.

You may be right, I never watch it. My idea of nightmare tv though, is The One Show.

Frankly, most post race interviews are anodyne and as a top jockey surely you'd much prefer to be weighing in and preparing for the next race. It makes sense for less successful jockeys to do them, and maybe some of them even enjoy it.

Donegal - you're spot on. His friendlier attitude in the Emerald Isle might have something to with the people who employ him! Ryan is a real chatterbox compared to Lester who would undoubtedly have told Matt to Foxtrot Oscar - and don't try again.

A rare interview with Ryan on Luck On Sunday now.

I used to think of him like most in this thread, but now I feel it's in his psychological make up - and the interviews are a genuine and painful struggle for him. After all siblongs Josh, Jamie and Hayley and Dad are very outgoing.

What racing needs is:-

1) Media training for Ryan Moore MBE
2) Racing presenters to ask more interesting questions than how does it feel? If there is nothing useful to be asked, don't ask it

Said this before but Ive seen him plenty of times at the races stopping for photos, chatting with the public etc. Maybe he's just being honest in his dislike for certain presenters and those sticking a microphone in immediately after a race.

you could always eschew both sadcake. maybe those are your choices

couldnt give a flying witches f@rt what a jokey says post-race. its never im the guvnor or i gave it a shocker or trainer said dont win

always the same platitudinous tripe, and worthless to anyone so those responsible should just leave em alone. if i was ryan-lee id be tired of it, dont forget he gets it several times after every race and the questions never differ

Only saw last couple of races but the usual tripe from Chapman so cant blame Moore. Great money when you can get it though, all he has to do before a race is interview someone connected to the fav, then afterwards no matter how the race went convince himself out loud that the race went exactly how he said it would.

I have known the family for years My daughter went to the same school as Ryan and his siblings did.

Whether  he is happy to do interviews when he is asked the same mundane questions time after time is up to him.

Remember the time Ryan was engaged in conversation with the late Queen and she had a large amount of respect for him especially after he rode her horse Estimate to win the Gold Cup at Royal ascot.

Well done Ryan Moore MBE

I should imagine he has more important things to do that read on here what others think about him

remember trainer Snowy Wainwright shouted at Lester Piggott that he had failed to ride to instructions and that he would never ride for him again to which Lester replied 'Id best give up riding then' another brilliant jockey who did not do many interviews too well.
