I'm not sure I have seen anything to compare with that resurgence by the winner in quite a long time.

For those not watching or might read this later - Lady Kara, 1st at Newton Abbot.

Sorry wrong thread ha

poor chap - doubt they'll be becoming back from that. Was falling out the back of the TV and to rally like that at Newton of all places is truly amazing and must have been horrible viewing when it started to rally.

Yes Blackburn. Thank God my Betfair balance was so impoverished otherwise I could have done a record amount.
I'd tried to lay it at 3.5 turning out of the back straight and didn't get a penny matched until the last hurdle, that is. |
|
By:
you left the money lying in the cistern?
|
|
By:
Wow -I was chugged because I laid the Jonjo jorse at 5/4 and 1.04 in running for buttons.Serious amount to be losing in running -Mick Fitz did say she was a battler.

I watched the race in the silver ring, from behind the last hurdle - much more side-on than the view on the telly. Live, turning in, the mare didn't look any more beaten than anything else in the race - they were all looking really one-paced.
Then I watched the replay, saw the horse drop back 2 out and did wonder whether it might have hit 1000 off the pictures. I'm not criticising anyone who laid it using the pictures. If you don't lay at 1000 in a case like this, when do you lay at 1000? Just pointing out that it wan't really a whirlwind finish; more a case of a bunch of summer novice hurdlers going nowhere, while the one who actually wins races found herself in front and landing a three-timer. |

Screaming, that's where I always watch the races from at Newton abbot, you've got the big screen just up to the right as well
Went to the previous 2 meetings (daytime) but didn't go yesterday because of the difficulty getting back home on public transport Backed Lady Cara, and the Skelton bumper winner in the last, but in between would have done my money |
|
By:
Hi Reg. I didn't play in the Lady Kara race, and left before the bumper to get the train home. But I did lay Siam Park (a horse who can give away weight and win bad chases, but very one-paced getting weight against decent hurdlers) and Dexpert Opinion (unraced over fences; why did they latch onto that one as favourite?).
Takes all sorts, but I'm glad we both had a good evening. |

aye a strange one, theres literally nothing in the boxes last 2f..cant lay anything that doesnt look like winning..i get pences every price..once this horse starting back peddling its impossible to lay anything..seems like absolute madness but can only assume some big layer offered the amount and left in in the system to be taken when it starting running on again..there again i dont believe any of the amounts matched anymore..its all walofs.

Yeah, i probably would have been leaving after the 5th race, wasn't too interested in the 2-horse 6th race as a betting prospect, although fair play to Beorma running up a sequence in such a short time.
I probably would have been getting the same train as you, but then the problem is getting back home from the station...no taxis after about 10pm |
