Never sighted. Their odds appear laughable compared with UK/IRE racing. 1 sec a horse is heavy odds on, the next, skipping any type of gradual increase, they're odds against. How can they justify that?

US punters play the exotics, a far more reliable guide to expectations.

Even at that, I watched a race the other day where the winning horse was clearly odds against at the off..but immediately after the race finished, the odds showed it returned 1/5!!!!! Even the commentator was embarrassed. After clearly being shocked at what he was reporting, he could do nothing but unconvincingly utter out the line "well, the heavy late money was spot on"

DBL, syndicates out there using CAW 1 min before the off and then getting big rebates on their bets.

As you probably know, the prices you see on screen at US tracks are pool prices. At most tracks the prices shown up until the off only include money taken on site, with national money being added in one big lump as the pool closes. As the national money is usually many times greater than track money this often causes big swings between prices just before and after the off.
