Sounds familiar? Went out to nightclub after victory over NZ yesterday Also present were Saracens rugby players on end of season do Stokes and another England player involved in an incident No further details at the moment
Not much information on what happened yet Maybe just an innocent bystander Trouble is, he shouldn't be anywhere near these situations...I know young men at the top of their sport like to celebrate but as Rob Key says, he doesn't want a "drinking culture" in the country's elite team

I loved watching Rob Key play for Kent in the 90s, a very decent batsman, but he is a numpty in his current role. He and Mccullum's authority is shot.
The fact that Stokes was out at that time in breach of team protocols should mean he gets stripped of the captaincy, especially after what happened in the winter.
I always thought he was lucky to get away with assaulting that guy a few years back, now i'm not saying the guy didn't deserve a whack but imo Stokes went OTT then.
He is out of form anyway and age is maybe catching up with him, so may be time to move on.

Dixie, I'm also a Kent fan, used to love the annual County Championship game at Dartford...sadly gone now...used to be Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells also I was going in the 70s when Kent ruled...

Andy Salzman just checking how many punches the ginger monster threw compared to the last round of fisticuffs. One geyser clean bowled lying prostrate on the ground, out for the count. It's just not cricket old boy!

Even the squad players were excellent in those days Reg, what a team they had.
sometimes Maidstone week would clash with a test match but even though Luckhurst, Denness, Woolmer, Knott (best keeper ever ), Underwood might be missing, results were still good. I used to go all the time to Maidstone games (unless i was playing, decent seam bowler in my youth ) my first ever match was when poor Colin Cowdrey snapped his achilles
folkestone week used to coincide with school holidays and the annual family 2 weeks in Dymchurch, so me and my brother would spend much of the time at the cricket, happy days. Gillingham was used a few times for Sunday League as well which was handy for me. I actually played at the Dartford and Gravesend grounds a couple of times in the 70s, one of my team mates for Medway was Steve Marsh, later to become Kent captain.
I was a member at Kent for a decade or so from 1992 but rarely go now as they only use Canterbury and Beckenham.

Nice one Dixie I was training with Kent youth teams early to mid 70s We used to practice at Dartford Grammar school indoor nets in the Winter...it was a catch-all for 12 to 16 year olds We had the Cowdrey brothers, Graham Dilley and others... i was a wicket keeper/middle order batsman...Alan Knott was coaching me and used to give me a lift home, he lived near me...unfortunately for me, Paul Downton was the other schoolboy stumper...I can live with being second best to him

When playing for Medway we came up against Graham Dilley, Neil Taylor, Simon Hinks. You could tell they were going to be top players.
My last match for my school (Rochester Math) before i left, was an all day affair away against Dartford Grammar and i have very fond memories of the place as i took my best ever haul - 8 for 22, got my name printed in the Telegraph for that and i still have the clipping vain as i am

Dixie, I was at Bexley Grammar, we played most of the Kent Grammar and Technical schools at both football and cricket Don't remember Rochester Math? Remember playing near to you? Borden school, Sittingbourne?

Reg - The full name of the school is Sir Joseph Williamsons Mathematical School, Rochester.
We played Thomas More, Eaglesfield, Westcliff and Dartford a few times but not Bexley for some reason, not in my day anyway. Judd, Skinners, Chatham Tech, Bethany House, Chislehurst, Gillingham Grammar (whispering Death went there)were others we played but never recall playing Borden although it was fairly close by !
The team that i played in was rather good (if i may say so), we only lost 4 or 5 games in the whole 6 years i played My year had some very good cricketers, Steve Marsh wasn't even in our Medway u19 side as a keeper, just as a batsman. No idea what happened to our first choice keeper from that team, he certainly didn't do as well as Steve did !

I once batted with Sunil Gavaskar when he was a guest player for us against some team near Beckenham.
He ran me out for nought. Much to the hilarity of all and sundry as I trudged back to the pavilion feeling somewhat bemused.
