On rare occasions Sporting Life will have the result up before they cross the line on Sky Stream!

Streaming will always be about 20 seconds behind aerial or satelite.

They keep saying technology will improve it when talking about going full streaming and get rid of the aerials and satelites but it never does.

As far as Sky are concerned, satellites, dishes and recording boxes such as Q are all defunct. New customers are all pushed down the Streaming route. Same with Virgin and all their recording boxes. Presumably in a few years it will all be streaming only. Much cheaper for those companies, they don't like you fast-forwarding through ads and couldn't give a monkeys that the sport you're watching is 30 secs+ behind live.

To some extent, yes. Useful article here from a year ago.

I just did a test on my (v old) virgin box - Sky Sports Racing exactly 16 secs behind BLV for the last race at Chester

my sky ATR is 8 secs behind BLV so 10 behind live..VM 19 behind live... hard for in running..

Indeed. Maybe the old Virgin Tivo box is 1 sec faster than a newer model ? Not that it really matters for horse racing in-running but worth knowing for other sports on Sky Sports
