Huntingdon’s been brought forward to start at 12.30, presumably to avoid the worst of the heat. Races around 3 miles being the first two.

No doubt they are still taking the temperature from the Heathrow airport tarmac, where the jet planes take off and land all day.

They can say what they want to keep the Sheeple under their thumbs.

Should they abandon any 2/3 mile races if the temperatures close to 100 degrees ?
From a welfare point of view.

So its not ok for a dog to run 480 metres but it's ok for a horse to run 3 miles with 12 stone on its back ?

No water at Bath, they’ll say good to firm, firm in places…..but it’s hard tbh just like years back….imo.

Bath has never been watered so you get a different mix of grass species. I remember back in the day when I went there quite often that trainers said you hardly ever get lame horses after running there. Proper downland turf. The question about a safe temperature is relevany. I guess that Leicester might be the hottest along with Huntingdon over jumps. Bath is high enough to get some cool breeze while Redcar is on the coast.

It’s an utter disgrace to have NH racing today !!!

Trainers and owners who run horses today prove they don’t give a F@@@ about them !

as you were there, we will take your word for it

its not about weather. climate is different. changes occured many times over a very long time, not whats happening now. i could go on but mugs are immune and beleive what they want

its a hell of a conspiracy if they are to be believed. must number in the millions and the sheeple must listen to the interweb truthers who know

i have a stack of new scientist magazines that are chock-full of reports from boffins that have amassed a giant pile of evidence. against that you say it was hot a while ago. even the sainted attenborough is in on the swindle

Look trump and farage are men of the people, they know that selling coal, oil, gas is way better,as these companies donate to them.

They just tell you whatever you’ll believe.

Long term we ll have to go green, but wind and solar isn’t a material,so it’s harder to sell people sunshine and fresh air.

Hence we drag our feet.
By:

When: 25 May 26 19:33
Why is it apparently getting hotter as we are apparently getting greener?
By:
comingupthehill
When: 25 May 26 19:39
1.we ve missed the boat.

2. Surely green is better anyway,it won’t run out.

Even if we are wrong, why not go green.

Sun and wind can’t be sold as easy, plus industries, companies, want you buying their products,

Harder to increase prices for free stuff.
By:

When: 25 May 26 19:44
quite simply we are impoverishing ourselves to make some people feel better.

the success of a nation is basically directly correlated to the availability and cost of energy. that obviously works inversely, countries with the most expensive energy, relying on imports will be in rapid decline.
By:

When: 25 May 26 19:47
no surprise, obviously, that the uk and the eu are pursuing these demented targets, and are as one might expect, falling behind countries that produce and can access their own energy. and sell some of it to muppet virtue signallers.
By:

When: 25 May 26 19:52
it's industrial use and technology that is most important. no amount of solar panels, produced by slave labour in china using fossil fuels, shipped to the uk using fossil fuels, is going to shift that dial.
By:
comingupthehill
When: 25 May 26 19:55
We need a mix, till the oil, gas, coal runs out,

So may as well be the leaders and go full green, nuclear as back up.

Wave,wind,solar

If the power went off and internet shut down,I’m sure betfair would be building off shore wind farms,to keep the platform running.

When: 25 May 26 19:57
People say but China burning coal.

But it’s all getting expensive,so just switch.

Trust meme.

It’s the big energy companies making MPsdrag their feet.theywant tomilk their product.
By:

When: 25 May 26 20:04
It’s not, same price or cheaper now.

Given your logic, why did the tories shut the coal mines.

Purely out of vengeance,

They ll push for us to drill for oil,but stopped coal mines digging coal.

Either milk the raw material or go green

We had ,coal,North Sea oil

The tories,privatised BP,and shut coal.

We should be as rich as Norway and the Middle East,we had the raw material.

But political opportunity won the day.
By:

When: 25 May 26 20:10
we easily transitioned to an economy without coal. we benefited from moving away from coal. I would argue that it wasn't ideological. Unlike nut zero.
By:
comingupthehill
When: 25 May 26 20:22
It was political, cos the miners brought the heath government down.

It’s like a lot of stuff in Britain,

Can buy it cheaper abroad so shut the industry, then prices go up,and we’ve lost the industry.

Once they’re built,it’s free energy whenever it’s windy.

Some days good,some days bad.

Yet we’ll drill 4 miles down in North Sea for oil,no logic.

But BP can influence MPs,so hence we pretend to go green, whilst letting BP sell more product.

We need all forms of energy,or we stay at the mercy of oil, coal, gas prices.

It’s no brainer.

Wrong! Wind power/energy is not free because IT HAS TO BE CONVERTED INTO USABLE ENERGY. It cannot go straight into the grid; it has to converted to the correct type of electrical current. This requires a lot of computing power. And guess where that power comes? North Sea oil. But not our North Sea oil. No, no, no! We buy our North Sea oil from Norway, who drill in the same North Sea oil fields that have. So, we our buying our own oil, from another country, at a greater cost, to power these windmills that either produce too much power (and it can't be stored - unlike oil/gas) or not enough.

It is a brainer and you're an idiot!

By:

When: 25 May 26 21:25
If your right,which I doubt.

Why are they building more.whats plan b if oil and gas run out.

They can store it,which is irrelevant, not windy creates 5% energy, windy creates 20/30% energy.

Any energy is better than rushing to use the oil and gas up,leading to us using wind.
