And if he had added 'at that trip'? She hasn't got any great form at the trip. Add in Moore rode a poor tactical race and Dawson an even worse one. Of course nobody bothers to mention that.

There's no doubt this is the case re fillies. Colts a different kettle of fish but does it suit them to have 2 classic winning fillies? Yes.

Report impossible123 May 25, 2026 10:09 AM BST
All this talk by AOB about running the best horses in the best races is what horseracing is about. But, Coolmore would not run their best 3 yr old colts eg Derby winners in The Arc eg Auguste Rodin and City Of Troy. Instead in America for commercial purposes.

Report Delashay May 25, 2026 6:00 PM BST
Why is it this is reported on SL but NO mention in the RP article?!

Minnie Hauk, who Daryz beat a head in the Arc last October, had the chance to follow suit in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on Sunday but was below-par having found to be lame afterwards.
Report Delashay May 25, 2026 6:02 PM BST
'You can put a line completely through it, don't worry about that run at all' - Aidan O'Brien explains Minnie Hauk blowout

Explaining the performance, O'Brien said: "What happened with Minnie Hauk was that they jumped and they went for three furlongs so Ryan [Moore] gave her a chance, which was the right thing to do. But then the pace went out of the race completely and they walked in the middle of the race so, really, he ended up out the back on a mile-and-a-half filly and they were walking, so she had no chance from there."

Just blames the pace as per usual Crazy

Always at it these lot! Cry
Report impossible123 May 25, 2026 8:19 PM BST
Minnie Hauk is no Enable. I do not think she's as good as Found. Daryz is no Golden Horn either. The ARC field he beat were nondescript.
Report Herbie-53 May 25, 2026 9:43 PM BST
I think you're being very harsh on the Arc form - the two best horses easily beat an average field but the
form fully adds up as they all ran their races. The next half dozen ran to the pound which to my eye makes
the front pair very decent performers.

Daryz has since been a revelation back in trip and I strongly suspect Minnie Hauk will come good in the Autumn
which is likely connections' game-plan.

For that reason I thought she was terrible value yesterday...odds-on with a proper 10f specialist in Ombudsman
declared?? I think that was a wise move from Gosden NOT to jeopardise his Royal Ascot preparation against far
better opposition at The Curragh than up against much easier grade in the Brigadier Gerard on Thursday.

She's probably on a par with Found at this stage but there's every chance she could match/exceed her level in
time and I'd drawn a line through yesterday's race and maybe also forget about Royal Ascot - she WILL be back.

And as for Daryz...again, he's probably just a pound or two below a peak Golden Horn but he's certainly started
the season in grand style...with the promise of more to come, so I'm puzzled how anyone can be critical of what
looks like a 4yo who's wintered very well...and improved for it!

PS - I heard Graffard recently making comparisons with his other champion...the excellent Calandagan.
Listening between the lines I suspect he figures Daryz might have improved past him after formerly believing last
season that the older gelding had his number at home - it's a brave man who lays Daryz at a price, though fast
ground would be a concern for a colt targeting Royal Ascot - it should be remembered that he bombed out at York.

People miss the point, is it bad reporting on the RP behalf or IS KEY INFORMATION being withheld from the public?
Report Delashay May 26, 2026 7:35 AM BST

Ombudsman is the next star 10f performer on track at Sandown on Thursday in a division brimming with talent

The three-year-olds are really going to have to go some to infiltrate a strong older horse pool over 10 furlongs this season.
Constitution River looks the clubhouse leader over a mile-and-a-quarter amongst the Classic generation at the moment, but pre-Betfred Derby it’s very early amongst the three-year-olds with plenty of water to flow under the bridge.
Coming out of Royal Ascot that picture will clear up ahead of the Coral-Eclipse where it is with hope at least one of the three-year-olds will rock up at Sandown to take on the older horses.

But before then those older horses need to sort out their own pecking order over the distance and the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes is beginning to look like an unmissable clash on the second day of Royal Ascot.
Favourite at a best of 11/8 is the Francis-Henri Graffard-trained Daryz, the Prix de l’Arc De Triomphe winner developing into a most versatile performer at four after wins in the Prix Ganay (10 furlongs) and Prix Aga Khan IV (nine furlongs) on his first two runs of the campaign.

The son of Sea The Stars looks quicker for another winter under his belt and while the Prince Of Wales’s will be his toughest task over 10 furlongs to date, it’s no wonder the bookies are running for cover.
Minnie Hauk, who Daryz beat a head in the Arc last October, had the chance to follow suit in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on Sunday but was below-par having found to be lame afterwards.

She could bounce back if recovering in time, particularly if she got a strongly-run 10 furlongs with the emphasis on stamina, but it was the Tattersalls Gold Cup winner, Almaqam, who threw his hat into the ring for Prince Of Wales’s glory.
Ed Walker’s horse was threatening to become disappointing for a horse of his ability, but he landed his first Group 1 thanks in part to a proactive Kieran Shoemark ride on good ground that might not be his optimum given he likes a bit of cut in the conditions.
To do it on his seasonal reappearance, as well, was particularly significant as he has seriously come on for his first run the last few years and that puts him right in the mix for the Royal Ascot prize.

It still begs the question WHY isn’t this vital piece of info NOT reported in an article on birth sites that blame the pace for the defeat? Confused

It’s not good enough and certainly easily missed and raises questions about standards as well as other questions.

Yes it is and you have to ask will she even show, Field Of Gold was lame in the race at Goodwood not seen for ages after.
