Doyle’s husband and fellow jockey Tom Marquand confirmed the injury is not too severe as he gave an update to Racing TV.

Marquand – who won on Catullus at Goodwood – said: “She’s gutted first and foremost.

“She just felt like she was running on into the season now, enjoying it and finding a few fun horses.

“Thankfully, it’s a leg and nothing more serious.

“I think she’s due to have an operation on it at some point today, hopefully they sort it out in one and she can concentrate on getting back as fast as possible.”

Doyle was due to race at Salisbury on Saturday evening where she could have added to her 53 winners in 2026

We all wish her well for a speedy recovery.

latest update........

on Wednesday, speaking to Atheraces.com, she revealed she had broken the tibia and fibula in her left leg and had to undergo surgery next week and there was no timescale for her return to action.

“I’m due to have an operation next Tuesday to put plates in the leg. I have an external fixation to keep it stable as it’s a complex fracture," she said.

“It’s extremely painful and at this stage I have no timeframe to work to in terms of getting back in the saddle. I know I’m facing a long spell on the sidelines but am committed to getting back as soon as I can.”

STEPPING UP MY REHAB AFTER POSITIVE NEWS

Since getting the go-ahead last week to begin weight bearing on my broken left leg, I have been upping my rehabilitation routine at Oaksey House in Lambourn.

I’m working out there five days a week under the supervision of an excellent team, putting in some strong sessions in the gym, on the bike and in the hydro pool with the aim of achieving more movement.

It’s a long road back from the injury I sustained in a fall at Bath in May, but it feels good to finally be more active.
