Gstaad was annihilated by Bow Echo at Newmarket. Today he's 1/3 for the Irish version. Is that for real? If so, the race must be substandard and does not deserve a Gp 1 tag.

Gstaad is 1/3 because there was daylight (8 lengths) between him and the third, Distant Storm, at Newmarket.
The same Distant Storm who is second-favourite at the Curragh. TheSecretAdversary and Power Blue were also behind them at Newmarket. OK, sometimes the 2,000 Guineas throws up some iffy results and sometimes horses take a while to recover but it is no great mystery why Gstaad is so short. |
