This is going to take several racing (losing) days to get used to. Luckily I have a magnifying glass handy for much of the microscopic script.
Hopefully I should get used to it after a potentially disastrous losing first week. |
|
By:
it is overall a terrible layout. too many clicks and scrolling just to see basic information .
when you click on a horses name they don't even show the odds of the horse anymore, that's basic information , now you have to click on odds comparison . how is that an improvement ? |
|
By:
It's sh1te...used to have todays OR, RPR and TS ratings just above the ones from the horses previous runs.
Now they are stuck away in some tiny frigging font next to the form figures. |
|
By:
When you go to the compact card the colours disappear but magically reappear if you narrow the window when, as a consequence, every single stat disappears.
|
|
By:
It's HORRIBLE
Talk about somebody trying to justify having a job. |
|
By:
who ever designed it has probably never had to use it .
some basic of basic information hidden all over the place |
|

Why can’t these computer nerds just leave things alone. Improvements are supposed to make things clearer and easier. This disaster does exactly the opposite. Awful. Back to the drawing board or, better still, revert to how it was. We’re all used to it, so why change. Change for the sake of change never works.

correct Bluemax , just give people the option to use the old site or the new site . people can make their own minds up then
they did something similar in the newspaper about 8 years ago regarding the ratings and switched back to the original version when people complined email them , otherwise they will never know how **** it is |
|
By:
And it looks like Topspeed and RPR data tables are omitted from the basic package, forcing me to have to upgrade. I'm not sure that should be allowable. When I subscribed that's what I was buying, now they're "saying sorry, you're not getting what you paid for".

My god, sounds like another example of enshittification.
![]() But, at least you can access the site, whatever that's worth. I keep getting the following : Application error: a client-side exception has occurred while loading www.racingpost.com (see the browser console for more information). ![]() |

What a twisted pile of pigs intestines.
Just looking at Lingfield, of the 8 races 5 have "no data available" for Topspeed ??? |
|
By:
Yeah me too, they will be inundated. I was dismissing this at first as being people being people - resistant to change. But this really is a mess.

There's nothing like showing empathy to your customers and taking them along with you, perhaps informing them of what you are intending and why, then asking them for input to help improve the final product.
Then there's the Racing Post's way of doing it. The polar opposite. |

An atrocity of a website now. Dozens of tipsters but harder and harder to access basic necessary information. What is the email address bluebook? . Can't see it on there any more.

Thanks for that address, lux. I Have just sent the following message:
Every time I click on a racecard I get the message Application error: a client-side exception has occurred while loading www.racingpost.com (see the browser console for more information). By disabling Javascript I can access the racecard, but then I cannot access any form when clicking on a horse's name. To do that I have to re-enable Javascript every time. I am using the Chrome browser on Windows. In the meantime the best thing to do is to keep Javascript enabled, but type each horse's name into the search box when you are doing the form for a race. After that it works as before. It's just the racecards which are now inaccessible. The other thing worth trying is simply to give the game up, because we're all going to be affordability checked out of it anyway. |
|
By:
..... Chrome on Windows all fine here, preferred the old layout though.

NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,NO,...............KIN AWFUL !!!!!
|
|
By:
it is also noteworthy that having given no advance warning whatsoever of the change there is not a single reference to its implementation anywhere on the site. Not even worthy of a self crowing news item.
|
|
By:
Whoever designed this new card layout, and whoever approved it, should be sectioned.
|
|
By:
Putting the Verdict above the racecard is nonsensical imo.

can anyone work this out :
click on a race , then stats , then go to official ratings . what kind of order are the horses in ? it use to be in the order of the saddle cloth number . now it's just random like bingo ![]() |

As Loper mentioned earlier the font size for Triner, Jockey, weight, etc has shrunk for some reason ??
I have my page Size set at 125% and it is still very small ! |

There is not the slightest chance that the RP will revert to its old site arrangements. The clear idea is to remove RP Ratings and speed figures so that you have to pay for them. They need the money so you can safely forget the old site. Shame, I used to buy the RP about 3-4 times a week. I would now have to travel 10 miles to get one. It was also useful to compare RP ratings with Timefrom. Now I can no longer do that I will probably stop Timeform and rely on my own ratings.
|
|
By:
it's not faster or more streamlined for me
if i click on a horses name it doesn't show its odds . i have to then go back and click on card or odds comparison stats and official rating should have separate tabs |
|
By:
How did you find that Steerforth? I've tried by simply going to the news page and I can't see it anywhere?
I can only access it view your posted http? |
|
By:
I dont take much notice of the Ratings and Speed figures but at least you still have them, albeit with the hassle of changing pages.?
|
|
By:
I typed a query into Google AI asking how the changes had been received by users. Google hasn't updated itself yet as the main reply related to previous changes. However, this link popped up in the sidebar as "relevant" information.

stats and official rating should have separate tabs
I think they are seperate.? |
