He had a quiet year a few years back where he was dropping everything for APOB out the back and it didn't work,he's been riding almost all up in the vanguard and like the best horse in the race to great effect for the last few seasons and is at the height of his ability right now.

The horse had a good draw, was proven on the track, and was getting a very handy 5lbs. Over a trip short of his best, it was odds on he was going to go forward. What was great about the ride? Didn't he just do what anyone might have expected?

he never gave the horse the opportunity to relax and/or idle for a second . exactly what was needed and quite unusual to see him so animated from the off . he will sleep better than toby tonight who had a mare on maxi king in the cup . never in proper control of the horse or its position in what is a challenging contest for a young claimer . but , that is a learning curve for the boy . he will know he probably should have won .
