Fentiman was suspended for 4 day for careless riding as he had moved gradually left-handed after the cutaway, at the same time as KOODINI (IRE) had improved to his inside, resulting in Watson having to take a significant check on the rails.

Clerk of the course has said that they are going to water. Quote 'She said: “We were going to water anyway tonight, but we’ll be reviewing the amount we’re going to put down.
"I'd expect we will be putting on more than we originally planned to do, probably in the region of 10mm."

Until these poxy racecourses stop watering their courses to affect the going, we are gonna have these issues. By all means lightly water to keep the grass alive but too many go for this "safe ground" sh1te, the worst culprits being Epsom and Goodwood.
If it is has been wet, they do not extract the water, so when it is dry, we should have fast ground. End of.

So Wednesday's racing passes without incident...clerk of the course waters on Wednesday night...jockeys on Thursday complain the bend is like an ice rink...so clerk of course announces she'll put another 10mm on Thursday night...makes sense.
Light, daily watering causes the grass roots to stay near the surface, causing the turf to be easily disturbed by foot traffic.
Anyone with basic knowledge of turf management would know that.
The amounts and frequency of watering last week have caused this issue.

Lanark top right hand bend was considered to be the most sharpest in the country (in all type of weather)….
Ridden on by some of the best to grace the turf,never heard of any complaints tbh…..

A few years ago they were considering having "jump" racing at the "RODEO TRACK" Chester.

I was also comparing the situation yesterday to the Weetabix advert and how we are not so , “Great” but more of a shambles. A tongue in cheek joke that you missed.
The comment about Tom Maq downing tools was in my eyes a reflection of the younger generations lack of grit, to roll their sleeves up and get on with things. Which eventually he did!!
Those younger than these are even worse and at least Papa Egan said it how it was and got on with it.

....Noticed while watching on TV the COC said " one of the horses slipped " then minutes later one of the jockeys said 3 or 4 slipped. My guess is Elanor knows more about PR than Track management.

Going back to yesterday why do discussions like this have to be secretive? People disagree, that's life. It seems that racing very much likes to hide things away. Just play it out to everyone, at least it would avoid idle speculation.

My comment is a reference to him and his cronies saying absolutely nothing regarding The JukeboxMan and his bad run in the Gold Cup on the Opening Show and the day of the race by not asking about the setback he’d had.
It’s all in the Cheltenham section with a thread that put up.
He mentioned every horse that ran in the Gold Cup except Harry’s, he, Rishi the rest they ducked it.

I'm trying to get into the flat after 25 years watching the jumps (I find the breeding side of the flat quite interesting).

they could learn a lot from france etc IF you are going to water you overwater well in advance several days before any meeting & you water as infrequently as possible
........and you can predict to English weather wondersbright?
this problem has nothing to do with the weather it was caused by the watering volume & timing
