Should have been disqualified. It looked bad, it was bad. The jockey did not do anything to correct his riding mistake. Yet, he was rewarded with a riding fee and a percentage of the prize money. Bizarre!

The first time maybe, the second time could easily be described as intentional on the part of the jockey.
Not saying it was dangerous but even an amateur would know to switch hands.

with potential injury, or worse, to horse and rider, really is dangerous.
Whatever the rules of racing say.

we,re not on about horse racings rules ,we,re on about a court of law when a serious accident happens because of so called careless riding, AKA gibbons and Freddie tyk. like in football exact same tackles are treated differently depending on if anyone gets a serious injury

uti - wtf are you on about, we all know the rules, doesn't mean we agree with them.

Davies is lucky to get away with only a 4 day ban for what was (the second time) an intentional act.

One day there will be a serious injury to a fellow jockey when that kind of thing happens, maybe then they will alter the rules or make the penalties properly severe.

was no intent at all but only 4 day ban is farcical considering there are 2 incidents of careless & its taken him 1.5f to put his whip down & correct the hanging
considering 1 strike over whip limit is 4 days this is more 8-12 days offence imo

jockeys are instructed to put both hands on the reins to correct a horse hanging but he doesn't do this
he gives it a 2nd smack and then there's contact

Permission was given for GOLDEN REDEMPTION (USA) and SILVER GHOST (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for BILLYJOH to go early and wear a red hood to post.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two incidents of interference, approximately one and a half furlongs out and inside the final furlong, involving the winner, BILLYJOH, ridden by Harry Davies and GOLDEN REDEMPTION (USA), placed second, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa. The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved BILLYJOH’s placing as although GOLDEN REDEMPTION (USA) was initially given a bump and then subsequently taken off its intended line, BILLYJOH always appeared to be holding GOLDEN REDEMPTION (USA) with the winning margin being 2 ¼ lengths, the Stewards could not be satisfied that GOLDEN REDEMPTION (USA) would’ve finished in front of BILLYJOH with an uninterrupted run to the line and therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered. In the first incident, the interference was found to be accidental as BILLYJOH shifted quickly right-handed, bumping GOLDEN REDEMPTION (USA).
