A 20% S/R and over 2M in prizemoney last season and you think he should retire? Behave yourself stocks. Jonny only has a dozen in training and Pic is coming to the end of his Career. Its not ideal to lose him as an owner but its hardly the end of the world

Pic D'Orhy

38 Races
15 Wins
9 Seconds
3 Thirds
£1,038,007 in Win & Place Prizemoney (About £150,000 of it earned in France for a previous trainer)

Good job. Well done, Paul  Cool

Could be something other than the performance of the horses - yard still has a good strike rate, the bottom is hardly falling out.  I remember when those two yanks who went under the name of Pell Mell Partners took their horses away from Andy Turnell. There was only a few of them but he'd done brilliantly with Katabatic. It turned out that it was purely to do with them not approving of Turnell having an extra marital affair. Not saying this is anything on those lines but I'd guess, as has been the case with some other owners, it's a clash of characters.

As an aside, the Post cites the Sun as a source. You'd have thought the trade paper should have better contacts.

I am no fan, but without any explanation, this seems a very strange decision.
