Interesting that his jockey instantly blamed himself for not winning. Trainer left something to work on, so still my ew tip for the 2000 guineas, (the last 2yo race of the season).

Didn't see the head on but there seemed to be room on the rail the jockey could have gone for. He didnt and lost his chance.

You told me and others to take 33’1 on the other thread I said no thanks, because I don’t think that he likes the Newmarket track.

Can still get 25’s

Zavateri latest

Eve Johnson Houghton on Greenham runner-up Zavateri:
"I'm thrilled with him. He's trained on clearly. He got the trip and should get the mile, so we're delighted," she said.
However, no decision will be made until next week on whether she targets Zavateri at Newmarket (for which he's 25-1) or the Curragh for the Irish 2,000 Guineas, for which he is 8-1.

Seems like some think he won’t be there at HQ because of the track or likely quick going, hoping for softer in Ireland?

It’s why ask if you’re connected.

He’s a brave horse did well to barge through when Moore tried his best to block him, I can’t deny that mate.

It’s not knocking you Celtic, fair play for putting him up, just wondered if you were connected and what you thought of the track and ground for him.

The horse did not come down the hill at Newmarket last season. As such, I think he'd be going to The Curragh instead. I think he's a great chance too.

Thanks impossible for your opinion, he could has a re match there with Gstaad only one firm quoting the 8/1

She said yesterday on the Nick Luck podcast that the horse doesn't do anything flashy at home but in her opinion she expected him to run very well but would come on for the run.

Pretty much how it panned out.

I think Zavateri ought to have won, if connections were to believe Albert Einstein would not stay. Had a bit more conviction from his pilot was forthcoming a victory would have materialised, I firmly believe.

I did not play today hence did not know what the promos were in the race eg Zavateri to win or 2nd, etc. The Curragh (23rd May) is a goer. Newmarket might be too soon (2nd May), but not without any chance given the nondescript performances of the winners in the 2000G trials. The Newmarket undulation could be the deciding factor whether he wins or not. Then again connections could be bold and go for both.

Del, settle down, I thought you were discussing what the trainer was hoping for so I posted what she said yesterday in the hope that it would put into context what he did and what she hoped for, it's as simple as that, no confrontation or after-timing, I thought I was helping with regards to what she said about his work at home and that he'd come on for it.

Just to make it clear, I am a humble punter with no connections within the sport. The relative odds make my newmarket ante post punt look shaky now. But ha 33-1 is 33-1 at the end of the day for one of the best 2yos

Fair enough Duffy and apologies if I came across badly, I like the horse as can excuse his run in the Dewhurst because it came at the end of the season on a track that he didn’t like. Which if you think about it is kinda funny when he handled Goodwood.

There’s something in there perhaps if you compare him with Field Of Gold.

No worries Duffy, I’d read what she said on the post and played Burkes colt, wasn’t far behind Oxagon in the Dewhurst so followed that line.
