rode it poorly at chelts too

Always the danger when the plan is to hold on until after the last and then press the button, mistake and it makes things very difficult.
By:
Also tried the 'inside' run for some reason - finding trouble in running was a difficult achievement but he managed it too.
By:
what more evidence do you they want this thing is a galloper
By:
2m 4f should be perfect yet riding it for push button

The New Lion travels well in his races. However, he's a habit of making an error eg a skewed jump when he comes under-pressure.
No catching the winner Brighterdaysahead regardless. |
By:
Yep, went for the inside and JK closed the door on him, needless really and then the mistake at the last was the final nail in the coffin
By:
Ruby confirming Harry Skelton was p1ssing about and didn't the decision quick enough
By:
Poor ride but winner would've still won imop

Not a top notch jockey..never will be...terrible in big races...that was dire but no besting Betterdays...

Kept over hurdles, wonder if they might go for the Stayers next season.

By:
You were right impossible this morning
By:
They dont like to win on the ones punters are betting rode to lose imo
By:
yes 140k to the winner and he rode to lose

No problem in the last race although given a big, helping hand by Powell. So bad.
By:
deffo a piss poor ride, and probably might not of beaten winner but should of came outside off the last bend between the winner and the about to drop away potters, two of them trapping into the last 3 hurdles and take your chances, and he was piss poor on it in the champion ,gave it no ride today or the last
By:
im not convinced would have deffo won..both travelling well to last..lion 1L down makes slight mistake goes 2L down..beaten 3L.
By:
slight mistake ? on yer bike ffs
![]() |
By:
switched right and shaken up before last where mistake
By:
.... of the not slight variety
By:
.lion 1L down makes slight mistake goes 2L down..beaten 3L.
By:
the mistake cost it 2 lengths including momentum, so a tad more than a "slight" mistake.but as it was a length down at the last and 3 lengths down at the line, means it would have been beaten a length without the mistake. simples !

Very poor buy from JP advisers massively overrated horse, got fingers burned at Cheltenham was contemplating today it may have been just bad run and get dough back, thank be jaysus I didn’t get involved

If we are working into the equation the ground he lost at the last we are going to have to give back to BDA the ground she lost at the third last in order to level the playing field.
It wasn't strongly run that wouldn't have suited the front two but the thing with TNL that is being ignored despite a few pieces of evidence in the book is that we have seen that even after travelling well TNL does not change gear immediately, he was being tapped for toe in the FF when he came down, he outstayed his rivals in the Neptune last year and took long enough to get past Nemean Lion on trials day, so to think he would readily go by BDA who runs right through the line is contrary to what we've seen with the horse. |

Still playing poker Duffy?
By:
eh?
By:
As Ruby Walsh said, the Skelton was on the back foot before the last with differing and finally deciding to go up Jack's inside. Needed to be more decisive and the mistake was the final nail in the coffin.
By:
poor ride he obviously thought he had winner covered .the moment jack wasn’t letting Skelton up his inside Skelton was on back foot . clever ride from jack . It’s a different kettle of fish riding on handicap plot jobs in these meetings than proper graded races ,those Irish jockeys are different gravy to the English bar Jones Cobden Bowens the rest are ordinary and imo that’s being polite . Sam Ewing Dan king would be far better options for stable jockeys than some of the ones English trainers have
By:
why did they/jack/skelton come up the inside anyway, jack came up the other side in the opener, and they were using coming up the inside of track as an excuse for winston jnj, run ?

Impossible said that it was a good buy for the owner, I gave it another chance yesterday as it had what everyone had said that it needed pre Champion Hurdle (more ground). But as said afterwards it’s ONE PACED , also what Duffy has said twice now.
The horse was ridden wide and never ridden to really win in the Champion, different today he saved ground. There was only 1/2 a length between them despite the ride at Cheltenham, so another reason to roll the dice, but no more. A bookies horse. Once Lossiemouth mouth was SuppD for the Champion I don’t believe that they thought that they could win it. Hence being kept wide out of trouble so it could have a clean round jumping. The fall earlier is still in the back of their minds and he doesn’t throw the horse at a hurdle or GAP. Scared to commit it because of that I expect. But what do they say? If a gap is there and not taken, most likely too slow to grab it. Jockey error, lack of bottle, lack of pace and no doubt some guilt that they have this big purchase who’s not doing it and they know JP is likely not to rush in and support them again. |

He might of st on the bridle looking good, but it funds nothing off of it!
The horse is a plodder and doesn’t jump well enough. Avoid! ![]() That was his D Day, no excuses. |

The New Lion doesn't jump well. Winner enjoyed the flat track.

The speed with which AP sayed mistake made no diff and some other goon said Market got it right left a bad taste.
The mistake alone was due to way the tactics were employed, the market knew those tactics imo. The horse needed to be challenging at second last, not expected to use speed over last, I thought the race would be put to bed between last two flights. Conclusion :absolutely honking, filth. |
