Stewards inquired into the improved showing of AMERICAN TRIO after being tailed off in all previous runs. Trainer FERGAL O'BRIEN reported that it was as bad a race as you could find, and that the owner was very disappointed with the horses previous performances and he decided to razz it up with the best gear available and tell the owner to lay the bejaysus out of his other horse, which has been kept in its box and done no work at all

The explanation was accepted and trebles all round

Certainly picked a good race for landing a punt (novice selling hurdle).

Never owned a racehorse.  Just to clarify if I do can I get together with the trainer and discuss when its going to be tailed off and when its going to win 50 lengths ?

More of concern is if horse looked tired while running down the field is the horse been made sick to run so bad or not trained is this why horses get heart attacks ?

why not?

it's just a long run comment  Rico. There will be occasions when a 4/1 to 2/1 is still worth backing but I play mainly in h'caps and if one shortens due to public money because of good recent form ( not backclass or no form ) you better be a good judge regarding horses.  Otherwise a lay is a possible play.

either the exchange,s have ruined racing or punters have always been cheated
35 yrs ago no punter/pundits advise to beat blatent cheating like this would have been to LAY horses to lose, not really possible for 99% of punter,s

Hope this race gets more coverage and it puts off youngsters getting involved in our bent sport. Only then can thins change. These trainers and owners treat us with contempt. My ultimate contempt is for stewards who are just there forva day out on tge champagne. Useless idiots

Was a good day for the pair jumping up and down like they'd just won the lottery.
