Bookies will be bricking it if he gets the first 2 or 3 home, must be lots doing the multis with Harrys Diamond in the last as well.

Looks good but Sundays in particular can be poor for the shorties..
By:
One down. Winner well backed last night but drifted before the off. Think the Elliott horse has every chance of beating him in the next.
By:
Nice start, beaten half the track.
By:
Harry getting schooled by the Irish jocks.
By:
Well done MJK.
Bungled the first, and from that point outridden by Williamson. |
By:
Cheers DD. Think only falls can stop his next two big shorties so leaving the rest of the card alone.

By:
Mullins only had 1 winner so far in April and he had 7 runners in that race.
By:
I am sure Mullins likes Cobden because his bridle style reminds him of Walsh. Problem is the other jocks used to pay far too much reverence to Walsh for much of his career. The younger breed don't do that anymore. Cobden is going to have to earn track positions.

Absurde needs a fast pace. Race was never likely to play to his strengths. Not too many jockeys can make the front runners go faster, definitely not the English ones

Three timer up - three odds on losers, none of which had a sniff. Surely JP won't have stitched him up?
By:
Cobden learning straight away what happens in Ireland. Literally thousands of heinz bets placed all over the British Isles. Mullins sends 6 duds to the races. We can't have you winning on anymore than 2 Harry. If even 2. 3 odds ons. 3 stuffed. We can't have our bookie chums losing heavily. Gotta feel sorry for naive punters. Really needs investigating.

By:
betting been saying all day the big race runner wouldnt win with prime booby walsh on top
By:
Cobden made a bad decision being retained by that yoke. Hope he doesn't mind being told you can't win on this one. Ride him out the back etc..

johnny ward said punters in ire love cobbden not as much as the bookies do

Quickly finding out it's not quite the same as riding three penalty kicks at Taunton.
By:
Keep saying it and many will think I'm mad but last few years both jumps and flat Sunday racing throws up a too high number of beaten shorties. It really is a bookies benefit day over the year (even more than the rest that is). Love if someone could do a study of this at some stage.
By:
odds on chances do also flop in Taunton. willie has had plenty of odds on flops before, and will have more in the future. anyone would be forgiven for thinking you are new to this game.
By:
Only one of them had a chance on how they ran, arguably. And as I noted above, Absurde was up against it when there was no pace. But he was also briefly short of room.
All of the others were well tonked. |
By:
looks like Willie stitched him up imo
By:
Surely not

By:
Yeah Willie was planning it for weeks. 'I'll show him'.
By:
Willie has been evidently planning the same treatment for Paul in Fairyhouse
By:
Cobden has a good chance in the National tomorrow. Though I think Waterford Whispers could be the best of the owners. No surprise to see his mob all there at the end.
By:
The Irish got a good look at Harry's backside just there in Fairy, better get used to it.
