I dont understand the placepot pool of only 25k. A big crowd and saturday business volume, maybe the tote not boosting via their own money.

That was their guaranteed bit, now been corrected to total of 43k
About right for a day with 8 meetings, with a couple of them TV/higher profile ones
Most of the crowd probably holidaymakers who wouldn't know what a placepot was, mostly off course or T0te money I would guess

They cheered the “winner “ , on the first circuit, not realising it was a two mile race!  I have also experienced this in the Eider at Newcastle which is 3 laps. The hospitality people next to me were celebrating by chucking bubbly all over and reckoned there should be an enquiry as the horses were still racing . One said, ‘ You'll still get paid out “ .
