One of the Coolmore boys was judicially laughed-at in court recently when he took the parents of a disabled kid to court over the sale of a country house or estate. And, envelopes containing many 50 euro notes were used as "persuaders" to smooth the transaction. Sadly, this was all deemed to be unethical, disingenuous and downright improbable by the judge.

Wasn't Coolmore's argument based on a "verbal handshake", was it a bit like the "verbal handshake" they themselves laughed at when dealing with Ferguson over Rock Of Gibraltar.

Re verbal handshakes -- this is going back a couple of decades but I once spoke to someone on the admin side for one of "the lads" and he said basically that all of them owned fractions of all the horses regardless of which colours they ran in but trying to nail down who owned precisely how much of whom was nigh-on impossible.
