35.94% buyers fees are a disgrace and VAT will be added to price+fees. I expect there will have been seller fees as well. Thankfully nothing looks in the slightest bit interesting to encourage me to bid. The RP signed print I have on the wall is much better, although not impressed Ruby Walsh seems to have signed it with disappearing ink!

Listing fee, catalogue fee, sellers fee, buyers fee and a 3% extra online fee, all plus vat.

You might need to pay to register before you can bid.

Easy to give it a miss, have many happy memories of the great horse, although it all ended a bit messy with owner and trainer and horses sad demise.

2 Tingle Creeks, 4 betfair chases, 5 King George's, 2 gold cups. Not a bad haul.

Most versatile top class horse I have seen, any ground any trip.

Anyone remember that Poem/Song that was read at Cheltenham about Kauto Star, it was really good?

Is this the one you're referring to stewarts?  If so, there's an audio link underneath the lyrics.

I've heard the legends from days gone by
When people speak of them you see a sparkle in their eye
But in the times that we live in people come from near and far
To see one of the greatests his name is Kauto Star
The best chaser in the world
As he jumps and as he stays
Dominating all divisions and all others at the grade
And on those golden days in March he came storming up the hill
Winning two Gold Cups impressively, giving racing such a thrill
And they're talking in the streets and they're talking in the bar
But you'll never see the like of Ruby Walsh and Kauto Star
They're talking in the streets and they're talking in the bar
But you'll never see the like of Ruby Walsh and Kauto Star
Last years racing season was not to be his time
Third at Kempton and Cheltenham and pulled up in the emerald isle
Some said after that year it was time to then retire
But Ruby, Paul and Clive knew that to run was his desire
So on clear November Saturday on the turf at Haydock Park
Thousands they gathered with their hats, badges and scarves
Kauto versus Long Run a close match up to be
But it was Ruby who came out on top and went down in history
And they're talking in the streets and they're talking in the bar
But you'll never see the like of Ruby Walsh and Kauto Star
They're talking in the streets and they're talking in the bar
But you'll never see the like of Ruby Walsh and Kauto Star
Christmas time at Kempton was the next chapter to be
The drive for five King Georges and a place in history
And as Kauto led them round the bend the festive crowd did roar
Long Run came and joined him but the old boy, he found more
And they're talking in the streets and they're talking in the bar
But you'll never see the like of Ruby Walsh and Kauto Star
They're talking in the streets and they're talking in the bar
But you'll never see the like of Ruby Walsh and Kauto Star
Kauto, Kauto Star
Oh yeah
Kauto, Kauto Star
When that day comes when it's over
We'll only then realise
How privileged we have been to have the star shine in our eyes
So cheer him home all the way up the hill so straight and long
And we'll raise a glass to Kauto and together we'll sing along
They're talking in the streets and they're talking in the bar
But you'll never see the like of Ruby Walsh and Kauto Star
They're talking in the streets and they're talking in the bar
But you'll never see the like of Ruby Walsh and Kauto Star

Auction fees are bad enough but some misunderstandings here.......

Breadnbutter - Re your post - There is no listing fee and no catalogue fee!!. There is no need to pay to register to bid.  The other fees are shown below

Storm Alert -
35.94% buyers fees are a disgrace - VAT will be added to price+fees. - The 30% Buyers fee includes vat. If you bid on line this will add another £4.80 including vat max, depending on your chosen platform. Buyers fees are  defo extortionate BUT it is actually not as bad as it seems for the buyer; Because everybody has to pay it, the price you pay will be depressed because of this; It simply, and pretty obviously, drives down the price buyers will pay.

The seller fees are 20% including vat - This is pretty much irrelevant to the buyer. It does of course mean that selling at auction these days means that the value of the sale of an auction item is split between the seller and the auction house with the latter taking the majority.
