Yes, I noticed this. I was going to the track myself today but when I studied the card last night and then again early today, I changed my mind because the standard of horses there was so low.
Hence, I suspect we saw a combination of worse going than stated along with some very poor horses, with the result some big distances between the placed runners at the finish line.
An exception was the second from last where the winner won by a short-head by beating a 12yo horse that had not won for almost 7 years. That was a good indication of just how low a standard the horses were there today!
