Sums up bumpers these days, and in particular the so called 'top trainers' and the amount of effort they put into winning these races. Not so long ago this horse would have been put in at 20/1. Last night nothing better than 7/1, and now down to 5/2. These days it's a result for the bookmakers if a big stable wins. Henderson used to mop these up, but now he doesn't care, lucky if he gets one bumper winner a year.

The Books are risk averse now and it doesn't help when £20 punters cannot help themselves and try to ferret the prices as soon as they are put up
