Massive price tag after winning a Irish point very easily. Presumably, had a problem, and left Henderson without making the track. Not sure Henderson ever detailed what had happened. Returned to win a four runner bumper on deep ground. Came there cantering, but only just found enough off the bridle. Different ground today, and you have to wonder if he has the speed to concede the penalty. I want to oppose him, but the problem is that there isn't one obvious alternative. You really want a solid second favourite and a bunch of rags. I can see the bookmakers getting the result both ways.
Problem is that point was over three miles so likely he needs a bit more toe than he needed that day. Placed horses are now 116 and 124, and not sure Quay Item is actually worth 124. People want to back it, but given the profile, I think around 11/10 is too short.

Thankfully, I didn't find anything to take him on with. Some shocking rides on the supposed opposition. I presume he would have been about 1/3 after 100 yards. Again he hasn't found that much off the bridle, but didn't need to. Second beaten less than the cheap lengths given away at the start. It appears the Hall's don't care two hoots about winning bumpers. They had one with Jeremy Scott a couple of weeks go, scenic trip, not knocked about, finished sixth. No surprise if it turns out the best horse in the race.
