The rider, the BHA Veterinary Officer and the Racecourse Veterinary Surgeon were interviewed. Loughnane was suspended for 21 days for improper riding in that in riding his mount back, he had acted against the instructions of the Veterinary Surgeon.

I think Billy will have a devil of a time reversing the stewards' decision.

Must bave been a miscom,he knows right from wrong where horses are concerned.

Hope he appeals.....

He seems such a level-headed and intelligent young chap that it's easy to think there was a misunderstanding, however, it wouldn't be the first time young Billy has had a rush of blood to the head, as some may recall at Newcastle last season when he rode Orange Sky and wasn't subtle about stopping Dale Swift from getting through against the rail. Loughnane got an 11-day ban that day for "improper riding".

Billy's 21 day ban reduced to 14 after Billy said he did not here the vet's instruction not to ride him back to the stables.

in that case shud have cancelled it totally or upheld stewards decision..fckn ridic again from the clowns that run the sport.
