Im sorry but as good a performance as that was today the winner shouldnt and/or couldnt be nearly 11 seconds faster than standard.

An impossibility.

It was Sam.
Even the Hunter Chase was only 3.3 seconds above standard (albeit 13.3 slower than GW).
This is what can happen when the COTC doesn't flood the Course

looks to be the fastest gold cup time since sizing john in 2017
which incidentally was the last cheltenham similar to most of the previous 20+ before 2017 ie run on ground that was not to some degree soft
