Skelton was saying all winter the horse was too immature. Then ran him anyway.

Everyone told the trainer it wouldn't stay up the hill...and so it proved.

It went up the hill but not as fast why did n t he push on before the last instead of hold it on bit?

Just didn't get home,ran well.

Skelton got TNL and Kabran in the wrong races. He’s a handicap trainer.

Horse looked like a pony compared with some of the others.

Definitely looked more than just not staying. Hilarious seeing Skelton try to sneak in past Richi.

Harry said stopped a bit quick and might need a look at him.

It's a trait of a few Skelton horses, although this was a stark case, lots are ridden cold and find less than expected when push comes to shove.

Nice piece on it here from Carberry, all about the issue between him and Meade on whether he should have gone earlier and how he rode it the next time how Meade wanted him too and got beat further, no mention of the breathing though.
