An enquiry was held to consider whether XCITATIONS, ridden by Jack Andrews had appeared to take the incorrect course after jumping the first fence in the home straight on the first circuit. The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident. Andrews was suspended for 12 days for taking the wrong course as he had failed the jump the water jump and subsequently pulled the gelding up.

Absolutely no excuse for taking the wrong course.....I think 12 days is pretty lenient for Gross incompetence

Perhaps he should have been executed then,Muffler
![]() Step forward the man that has never made a mistake |

Who said anything about executing him.....I just think the sentence for what is gross incompetence, is pretty lenient?
And of course I've made mistakes, as has everyone, and I have, and expect to suffer any repercussions from my errors??? To me, taking the wrong course is inexcusable, its an absolute basic in order to complete the task for which a jockey is paid to do......did any other jockeys in the race do the same? Was there extenuating circumstances that caused this error.....probably not |
|
By:
the "extenuating" circumstance I would speculate is that chasers "miss out" the water jump on the final circuit, so probably some sort of brain f-rt connected to that?

The Rules stipulate the penalty,Muffler.
