Longer run in on both hurdles tracks this year than has been the norm in recent festivals.

whilst they have not moved the hurdles closer to the finish my understanding was they are no diff to a normal meeting so in effect they'd be the same as trials day?

Never said they were closer to the finish, 'longer run in' being the clue.

the plan was to move them, they didn't

For the 2026 Cheltenham Festival, the final hurdles on both the Old and New courses have been moved to a more historic position, placing them between the final two fences to create a longer run-in. This change was made to manage wet ground conditions and improve the racing line.

ok, i understand what you are quoting (as in mottershead), what he is saying by using the word moved is that they have moved in relation to where they were at say 2025 festival, but they have not actually moved they will be placed where they were at trials day in jan
