Looks ominous for the backers 16 to bet 34 for a full £1 to lay then another £1 at 46 gaelic warrior almost halved in price these last few days I believe we only have to wait another week or so to find out the plans.
My theory on Fact to File is that he's very much a rhythm horse. If he gets into a good one early doors, then basically he wins. If he did so in the Gold Cup, he wins IMO. I'd have no worries about him not staying the trip. But, according to the exchanges, it looks like he'll be lining up in the Ryanair

Frank Berry stated on @ the races website yesterday a decision wouldnt be made till the last minute i.e supplementary date which i think is Saturday. I wonder if they are waiting to see what ground/going forecast @ supp stage.Assume initially leaning towards Ryanair due to the prospect of really testing ground, however that doesnt look likely to be the case as its currently good to soft on New Course as of today on latest update from clerk. With a predominantly dry week ahead.

Mullins like to split his horses the owner will have to go where he feels that they have the best chance of winning. Everyone is taken by his win last time out, but the formbook shows that he’s lost to Gaelic Warrior in the past. Last time out was a jog round for him with Chelts in mind, he’s never ran well or been at his best in those races in Ireland at that time of year. One year he just about managed to jump the last fence looking legless and completely different horse was seen after.

Fact to file reminds me of Quevaga, Annie Power can take the Ryan Air and the prize money with ease, last time out was a confidence boost after a shabby run in the KG.

Jonbon has had enough chances for a festival win, head rules heart in this sport and McManus is a sportsman he’d be happy to see the two take on eachother and if Jonbons good enough on the day and the Jock on top then he’d be happy to see him win regardless of who he’s beating. He’s had many take on eachother in the Champion Hurdle over the years, My Tent, Beauvoir etc ….

Hopefully Jonbon's connections don't get swayed by M Nationale's withdrawal and stick to trips beyond 2 miles. Hopefully they skip Cheltenham altogether to be honest. Definitely not his favourite track and he's given connections so much already this season.

They might be swayed and then it also means that the other one has no reason not to go Ryan Air, but JP is a sportsman and what’s best for each individual horse should occur.
He’s already been thumped by Lord Du Skud so one withdrawal is akin to one Swallow …

Either way he faces another horse by the owner so what’s right for him should be the call, I don’t see any of them ducking eachother, the guys a Sportsman.

I only highlight the stupidest of Aceform's daily nonsense.

Even more than some other defections over the last few years (e.g Lossiemouth in her absolute prime) nothing sums up how appalling the extension of the festival has become. This is horse that has won the (old) RSA and hosed up in the Irish Gold Cup. Beating the present GC favourite and a 2-time GC winner. Much as I admire JP, he is surely not that desperate for Cheltenham winner is he? Golly, he has loads of favourites as it is. Not like, perhaps. Ricci last year whose plethora of good horses had somewhat dried up. You can understand, perhaps, why he might want a Mares Hurdle. But what satisfaction can it possibly give JP/WM to see FtF canter round to another Ryanair? A really dreadful decision. Your analogy with Celtic Swing is apt Jimnast, but at least Saville had the temptation of an increased sire's fee if he won the (easier) French Derby. And, rich though he was, JP has more lost down the sofa than PS did. A shocking. shocking decision. I speak with zero financial interest in either the Ryan or GC.

The most bizarre entry for me is Impaire Et Passe running in the Ryannair and not the Gold Cup. He's clearly a staying chaser and has already comfortably beaten Gaelic Warrior and Jango Baie in his career to date.
My 330/1 ante post voucher is now in the bin.

Before dessie won the gold cup many had doubts about him getting the trip we now all know he did but if the Ryanair was an option back then would we ever have found out ?
Good morning loper I miss throwing vouchers in the bin .

There is a counter argument that we missed out on some brilliant performances as the the g1 at the intermediate trip didn't exist. There will be plenty of examples, Florida Pearl could be one. There is a chasm between the breakneck 2m and stamina sapping extended 3m2f up the hill. Sure not every GC is a big stamina test nowadays, but not every horse can be a dessie and the compromise was just too much at either end.

& the Ryanair has served up some great performances and races since it was introduced.
I think it makes sense in the open chases, and not needed in hurdles or novices. Filly/mare carve outs are a bit different.
Getting rid of the 4 miler and too many handicaps, are also worse than the introduction of the intermediate G1 in my view. And the county should still be the last race.

as usual, everything is remembered after a good nights sleep............."sad, mad, bad" was the headline after Saville's decision on Celtic Swing. We had journalists on the RP who might not be afraid to express a view in those days.
