This forumite has been saying for years that Spencer can't steer.

Now I might be wrong (spoiler: I'm right) but it provides a rational explanation not involving bendiness, and tells me in what circumstances to consider or discount Spencer's rides.

Best to ignore the individual completely Ramruma, getting plenty of stick on X including the Sky presenter.

Clearly wasn't denied a clear run as he could've gone up the rail, instead chose to pul in behind the horse in front of him.

What a combo, Spencer and Culhane

saddo - I'd guess the washed-up lorry driver is referencing:

19:00 Southwell (Sir Benedict), as opposed to 17:00 Southwell (Spirit of Bowland).

But as ever with his posts, an ambiguous load of monosyllabic tosh from F4rty. The only thing articulated about him is the lorries he used to drive - and he's too lazy/ignorant to give the name of the horse, the time or the meeting.

Like i say anyoldiron some people wouldn’t survive a month without lorry drivers simply because everything you need to survive is brought to you by lorry drivers…..

They even make sure the drinking water doesn’t kill you,you fool…..

Jamie Spencer, the rider of SIR BENEDICT (IRE), was asked to explain his riding in the home straight with particular emphasis on his riding over the final 1 ½ furlongs under apparent considerate handling to finish 6th of 8 runners beaten 6 lengths. The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer performed a post-race examination of SIR BENEDICT (IRE) and had nothing to report. Spencer stated that his instructions were to leave the blind on for as long as possible, break well and get cover as SIR BENEDICT has a history of running freely in its previous starts. Spencer further stated that SIR BENEDICT having jumped well and taken up a favourable position behind the pace, had begun to over race approaching the 2 furlong marker when he reported that he was denied a clear run and had to take back for a stride when caught on the heels of MY TURN NOW which was weaking quickly and ISLA BELLA, at which point Spencer felt that his mount, which had never managed to make up any ground on ISLA BELLA or any other runners ,had emptied out underneath him as a result of its previous exertions and stayed on at the one pace, to attain what he felt was the best possible placing for SIR BENEDICT. His explanation was noted.

Imo there was still a chance of a place once he had more room, and perhaps a jockey like Luke Morris would have persevered.

I'd go with that, apart from...

had emptied out underneath him as a result of its previous exertions and stayed on at the one pace, to attain what he felt was the best possible placing for SIR BENEDICT. His explanation was noted.

It could have been much closer had it not been eased when beaten (I never mind that myself)
It's an 8yo with a 4 from 50 record and needs things to fall right.

Yes strangled........you have to at least flap ur arms about a bit so it dont look so bad......you would think Spencer would know this by now with his experience.

Both should be facing six months tbh…..but in a strange world people will think otherwise…..

Some poor little apprentice would have been hammered for that effort imv

Rancid.

How the race went is nowt to do with the trainer, ace,
the lack of effort when beaten is down to Spencer alone.
If Culhane knew it wasn't winning would it have started fav?

What is the reason he ignored the gaps and failed to ride for a place…..

Casual observations on this

the elbows move- but the hands do not-other than to subtly bury the nose of his horse up the **** of the orange horse in front

My old man used to say Piggott to be the best artist at this- the knees would flap-but never touch the withers

George Baker should be asked about this one- for a laugh

Aceform remains a losing, clueless Two Bobber who has an opinion on everything an the IQ of a tree sloth.
I merely ridicule the more stupid of his posts and it clearly annoys him and he tries to bait me to reply, with absolutely no effectLaugh

Just a typical example of Spencer…….he got lucky belting the @rse off one at lingfield yesterday…..

I wouldn’t touch the individual with a rusty washer tbh……

He has no respect for the fodder, hence the couldn’t be bothered to place….

Horrible overated individual…..
