buckley might still say no, also depends upon whether the horse might have picked up a knock, so they may delay but they have a duty to say where they are at and he might come out this afternoon with a statement

'acey' was correct. He was emphatic that CH would not be running in the Champion Hurdle next month. The bookies won again. All the pathetic statements by Hendo had allowed his sponsor to "nick" money off the naive and uninformed supporters of Constitution Hill.
It was never a starter post his falls over a short period of time since the last Festival.

Happy that the horse wont be running at the festival...
what a circus it would have been with breath being held by the whole crowd both at the track and at home every time CH left the ground.
now, lets see just how good he is (on the flat).

slickster 18 Feb 26 23:13 Horse won't know what hit him. This race is all wrong for him on so many fronts.
slickster 19 Feb 26 10:28 The race is tomorrow frico not today. Plenty of time to decide how to play it. Mr Henderson and Buckley should retire him. Too old for the flat.

I did not profit from his non-participation. I'd have 'lay' him on the day of the race had he shown up. And, I'd be glad (even) to lose if he'd won.
It was never going to happen yet Hendo chose to string along those naive and sentimental to profit his bookie friends.

'jimnast', I'm a backer. I do not even 'lay' a 'lazy or naive player here' on a declared non-runner knowingly. To me that is fraud. It's a personal thing.
As for CH, laying him on the day of the race is a personal disgust against Hendo.

It will be fascinating to see how his flat campaign works out.
I say well done to connections - I think it's the right decision as CH appears to have the equine version of the 'yips' over jumps, in my view.

Correct decision considering they wouldn’t change the rider…..
But 9 year old starting a flat campaign…..dream on…..
Which race ? And what big yards will have the ammunition against him ,unlike the dross at Southwell……

Betfair have not identified the individual that has asked for Constitution Hill to be added to the Oaks & Derby markets for this year, but have requested that his carer should ensure he's not left alone with a laptop

I would have said he had a long career ahead of him opening betting shops but sadly he's 30 years too late for that gig and even so he'd have to get up very early in the morning in order to beat Thommo to the gig which would be another hurdle difficult to negotiate.

uptheirons • February 25, 2026 12:13 PM GMT But as ever with his posts, an ambiguous load of monosyllabic tosh from F4rty. The only thing articulated about him is the lorries he used to drive - and he's too lazy/ignorant to give the name of the horse, the time or the meeting.
A totally accurate assessment of the Two Bobber

What would the decision have been 20 years ago without social media? Will be interesting to see what decision is made re Sir Gino, given his woes have been much more grave.

Don't know anyone who thinks Timeform are in any way relevant to their punting. Just another person's opinion. This rating Just proves the point even further. Jamie Lynch the top man says it all.

If that Mullins' rag could win in America I think CH could win a very decent race abroad too. I might even back him as long as Hendo does not shout from the rafters about his well-being.

Glad that they haven’t gone with Adell and gone back to hurdles, I thought that she loved horses, her logic for going to Chelts was pocket talk perhaps?!
I.e, that the Champion Hurdle looks a weak race, well what is so frightening about the stayers division on the flat?

Agree when there’s no direct comeback should the worst happen.
There’s plenty of races to be had ago at, we had tiny fields all of last year (Burkes Al Qeem bullying from the front over and over), stayers races in France were much the same (weak) , CH is one race and the horse is more important than that. The Gold Cup at Ascot doesn’t even have to be a factor.
The horse enjoyed running again and Adelle suggested holding him up out the back at Chelts but that’s what destroyed him by taking him in behind horses.
I remember the first time I saw him run at Ascot or Kempton he was just bowling along, Murphy confirmed he has an engine, win or lose there’s nothing lost as he’s getting on but seeing him win was great!

Credit where it is due lads i think Acey deserves a wee pat oan the back fur calling this wan.

Your reasoning is entirely correct AD good to see that there is still a thing as common sense still around, his last race and fall were on the 29th November. You posted this view on the 24th Feb?

The way Hendo spun it solely for the benefit of the bookies was disgraceful and disingenuous. As 'acey' emphatically stated there was not a chance in hell CH would run over hurdles post his series of falls.

There are a few big plans in the offing but has it been considered if the John Porter or whereever he turns up ends up being a damp squib, obviously not anywhere near comparable to watching something go amiss in the Champion, but in it's own way, watching him get run over by younger flat horses in it's own way will still be a sad sight, wouldn't imagine they'd persist for too long if/when reality bites.

Of course, what I could see happening, and I wouldn't rule it out, is, and I fully accept he could be a star on the flat, if the flat venture doesn't work and they are left stranded and we start to hear, well, we might try him back over hurdles again, we never said he's finished forever, blah blah...could see that.
