Hi all, took a look at the festival handicaps and found something very interesting, do you know that Dan Skelton who likes the odd handicap plot has lots of entries in all the handicaps excluding one, that's right, in just one festival handicap he has just one horse entered, the race is the Ultima on the first day and the horse in question is Holy Joe Smoke. He is the stable's only in that handicap and off a mark off 131 its questionable as to whether he will get in, he would probably need a 5 or 7lb penalty to be sure. Low and behold he is second favourite for the big race on Saturday at Kempton which was the old Racing Post Chase, should he win that he gets his penalty, is sure of a run and will be 10-1 or less for that race even allowing for the competitive nature of the Ultima. He also has run three times this season and all \t Cheltenham and all are decent form, indeed take a close look at the form of those races and you will see its extremely solid form which may have gone under the radar. Its 25-1 non runner no bet, I have backed it and hopefully it goes and wins on Saturday and then gets in off a decent mark at the festival, please check out the form of his three races, see for yourself, the right stable for a plot also.
Boombawn is not in this handicap he is in the 2m4f, in the Ultima there is only Holy Joe Smoke, to be fair he is also entered with Boombawn in the 2m4f there might be another couple also, but in the Ultima he is the only one entered.

There's a race which he won last year on the Saturday before Cheltenham @ Sandown (127),wouldn't surprise if he goes there as both of his career wins have been over that C&D.

I don't think it's a plot in the traditional sense, he just needs a win to get in, he runs on his merit every time IMO , but he is a tricky ride that would benefit from a try with headgear, he always travels well but has on occasions looked to pull himself up when hitting the front or coming under pressure, there two examples at Sandown and Cheltenham of this IMO.

Skelton mentioned this race and the prize money when interviewed after another of his won a race about a month ago. Wouldnt surprise me if OP is spot on.
