Nothing unlucky about it.

If i'd left £100 at 1.03 theres nothing matched under 1.04

Guaranteed.  Just the way it is in the wonderful world of Paudy and his extremely dodgy exchange. Trust this place at your pearl.

ChatGPT:

Q: what the stats are for horses that go sub 1.1 on betfair and go on to get beat?

A: Horses that trade at odds of sub 1.10 on the Betfair Exchange but fail to win are a rare but statistically significant occurrence in in-play betting. According to historical data from the Bet Angel Forum, approximately 6.16% of runners that hit 1.10 in-running go on to lose

At 1.15 Odds: Roughly 11.25% of horses matched at this price go on to lose.
At 1.10 Odds: Approximately 6.16% of horses matched at this price fail to win.
At 1.01 Odds: Between 1.38% and 2.54% of horses matched at the minimum price lose

so according to these stats, only 1.01's show a marginal profit over time. but then theirs your commission.

so basically, a total waste of time. unless you have millisecond advantage over everyone else in the market.

to show that marginal profit on 1.01s, you have to be in the front of the queue, so you get matched when only small amounts are . Very easy to do if you are "seeding the market" when it opens.
