how would this be priced up? If you think frankel stays as most people do he would be a 1/4 shot surely

ChatGBT would want to lay Frankel over a mile and a half at those odds, has it roughly 4/5 Shergar 5/4 Frankel

typed this into google...
what odds would arkle and quixell crossett be in a match race

the response...
In a hypothetical match race, Arkle—widely considered the greatest steeplechaser in history—would be an overwhelming odds-on favorite, likely priced at 1/10 or shorter (e.g., 1/20, 1/33) against Quixell Crossett, who was a high-class, but not legendary, performer. Arkle's unmatched ability and top-tier rating of 212 would make him a near-certain victor in any head-to-head matchup.

quixell crossett high-class performer pmsl

Never much point in speculating but to even attempt a comparison you need to specify the track, the going, their ages (assume 3yos but at what time of year), the riders and how many other runners. I would throw Sea The Stars, Mill Reef, Grundy, Nijinsky and a few others into the mix to make it more interesting. Sir Henry Cecil didn't even consider running Frankel over 10 furlongs as a 3yo.

Just a random list jimnastCool Grundy was a very good horse and Bustino had 2 pacemakers to try to beat him at Ascot. We could add Brigadier Gerard, Ribot, Enable, uncle Tom Cobbly.

Frankle would not get the trip , 7 furlong horse  - neither did Dubawi in Derby  - emptied out after 10 furlongs - trailed in 5th from memory , which is crap these days-  same reason
