Or he try's to keep going as he has been and in doing so makes the decision to dump him look all the more ludicrous than it already does and puts Cobden right up against it from day 1.
JP is probably thinking to himself, why weren't you doing this before whatever it was that brought him to the decision to get rid of him.
Instead of that Walsh is now making him look a bit foolish.

I got the ever so slight impression that Mullins wasn't overly impressed about it, in the immediate light of Walsh being dumped Mullins was at pains to sing Walsh's praises from the rooftops when it came to Majborough, and when discussing FTF, it was just the way he said "they" took him out of the GC which I thought has a bit of an edge to it.....probably nothing though

You are sounding like Aceform,Acey and probably explains why you have had more jobs than Frank Spencer. No position lasts forever. Get over it.Walsh clearly has.

Walsh will have been very well compensated for his service. Whatever you think of JP he's extremely generous. He spreads his money around smaller trainers and helps people out. Frank Berry, Geraghty and AP would testify to his loyalty - so don't shed any tears for MW.

All jocks to some extent are bound by confidence, but some more than others. I think Walsh would be one of those. When they replaced him he was really struggling, but it's suddenly a different story and you wonder why he has gone. Cobden might be a lot younger, but at the moment he would be hard pressed to match Walsh's current level. Once he gets his first Irish winner it's going to be about the big races, not the equivalent of riding a treble at Taunton. You can point to lack of ammunition, but Cobden doesn't have a mass of big winners on the board.
