I'm not saying this is what they've done. Just playing devils advocate.
If I owned it and thought the trainer could have it spot on for the big day and run like a dog and I could get 20k on 8-10/1 on the day instead of 2/1 then why not? Owners and trainers don't care about punters and landing a touch is part of the magic for many of them.
