Dry since about 9am in London. Sunny and breezy so Sandown has every chance I would have thought. Good bit of rain forecast overnight though. Very rare you see Heavy in the going description for the chase course.

However, torrential overnight rain in the area had put officials on red alert all over again, and a Friday afternoon inspection was called. While the track was raceable by early afternoon, with more rain forecast, officials will check again in the morning.

The track was passed fit for racing on Friday lunchtime but an 8am inspection was called with more rain forecast.
Sadly it materialised, rendering the surface unraceable. Saturday's card now moves to Monday with an 8am inspection called for Sunday's fixture there.
Wetherby was also abandoned after failing an 8am inspection.

Bit surprised about Wetherby when all of the attention has been on heavy rain in the south. Musselburgh still saying good/soft. Sandown will be very heavy in the straight which is hard work anyway with the slope.
