Remember the Budges, Tony.....who had all those great horses with Jimmy Fitz, think 2 of his were Comeragh King and Joint Sovereignty ......He sunk and took Jimmy with him, not financially, but horse power wise.

in fairness jimnast i did rely on my wine soaked memory bank rather than dip into my timeform annual collection that is about 2ft away from my computer screen !... i draw the line at google of course . does seem a decent sprinting period that compared to nowadays but that might be rose tinted glasses ...

A recent article in the FT stated that The Moores group were in financial  difficulty and seeking a buyer to take over the company.

The Wren kitchen group were reported as being interested in taking over the company but in the end purchased just customer information.

Not much chance of The Wren group (who have adverts on t.v. most days) going skint with reported sales of £290 million in 2018.

The owner Malcolm Healey is on the Sunday Times rich list with a reported wealth of over £1.5 billion.

Healey also used to own  e-buyer the on line computer company which is interesting as in 2023 they had a turnover of £136.5 million but just a profit before tax of just £1.7 million (a net loss)

In the previous year the revenue was £174.2 million but a profit of just £109 k.

There was a winding up order last year from their landlord and in August Mike Ashleys Frasers (sports direct)  group took over e buyer which is still trading today.

Penzance correct.   Budge's flashy colours were Yellow, Red epaulettes, Yellow and Red hooped sleeves and Yellow and Red quartered cap.  Mrs Budge much the same but hooped not quartered cap.
