Went to local branch asked how his current media stand is going. Since he has gone BOG every race Ire/Uk they have seen an uptake in customers. JC punters (the other local shop) are punting with Fred and watching the racing back at JC. The regulars are watching the races on their phones. He could win this battle.
To be fair I think Fred is right. Looking at the figures, it looks like ARC want another £10m a year off him.
My experiences of popping into LBO's during racing is that there are simply none or few punters betting r2r.
Looking at the profile of those r2r punters, it looks like most of them don't have 2 ha'pennies between them.
Just to break even on the deal, Fred would need to make over £7k per shop additional profit annually, which equates to about a grand a week extra takings by signing up.
On the other hand, by not signing up, he saves circa £30m a year, which means a shop could technically lose £3k a week of takings and he would be no worse off.
BOG all races is a cracking offer from Fred as he has no limits on the offer, unlike other bookmakers. The only downside is that 75% of runners will start with a better SP as the EP offerings are generally poor value.
