I detest them intensely. I was subject to one just recently through trickery eg an email promotion. I've 3 other betting accounts. $24k question is shall I carry on betting, and risk being subject to another trickery or unexpected id verification upon requesting a withdrawal as bookies tend to show accounts info? Horseracing and punting are merely pastimes now which are time-fillers, and unimportant.
Should I carry on or just call it a day and not punt at all? I'd be extremely annoyed (and probably stressed too) if another id verification is thrown in my path upon a withdrawal request unexpectedly. I should not be affected by AC or ID verification given the irregularity, volume and size of my bets.
I had to do one - ID not AC - (and one only) years ago for a bookmaker account I made some money on over Cheltenham.
Passport scan and upload, took five or ten minutes. No huge deal.
I can see how AC might be a bigger deal.

The utter lunacy of A/C's will remain the Anti Gambling Commissions greatest achievement in stopping people doing with their own funds whatever the choose to do. It matters not a jot if you have £10M of your own money if you haven't got an "income" that you can show them. The lunatics have actually taken over the Asylum

I have been waiting 3 weeks for verification from skybet despite uploading every document they asked for. Cant even reach anyone to ask or complain. Just robot doorkeepers. Cant even leave them as I cant get my balance ? Where do I go from here ?

With 'ladcrooks' an email to Stella David yielded immediate result. Money refund to my card with 2 days. The online chat operatives are a waste of time including the manager. A direct email to their CEO will instigate a response from higher up eg a case manager. The rest is plain sailing.
I've stopped punting now, just the remaining live anteposts. If absolutely necessary, I might do the odd one here (The Exchange), but not with any online bookie; I do not even use a fee charging cash dispenser. Why pay to get one's own money out? Illogical!
If I'd be subject to ID verification (AC next probably) then punting is truly dead! I'm the most irregular punter who does not exceed £20 per bet. I've not gone beyond a £100 a month deposit limit.
I used to turnover at least £2k a month, occasionally the same amount in one single antepost bet eg Don Cossack. Now, the thought of being subject to id verification and/or ac kills any interest in the sport for me.

It would be fantastic if you fecked off from here too! A more boring man I am yet to meet!
And so say all of us.
turns out not only a bore but a lying bore.
The £20 was supposed to have been processed on 29th Dec, yet it's not showing in my account today (3rd Jan). It was supposed to take between 1 and 3 days.

Both versions can't be right.

'brians', you'd try Mr Peter Jackson, CEO of Flutter, which owns sly', paddy and Betfair. His email address is peter.jackson@flutter.com
I sent him an email, and almost immediately received a reply from one of his staff at head office. The matter was referred to someone higher up (not online operatives). The matter was sorted in no time.

brians • January 8, 2026 8:47 AM GMT Not surprisingly peter.jackson e mail address just got returned. It doesn't work.
check that you haven't got any links on your email. That can sometimes auto-block incoming emails for security reasons.
google ai is trying to claim jackson has stepped down, but flutter website says he is still ceo. (good luck keeping your money in the future when ai starts to run financial companies and decides that you are dead.

Thanks a lot Andrew. So nice to see genuine helpful people on here instead of the insulting, back biting and think-they're -funny characters you sometimes get. Cheers

I am astounded that Bookmakers are still allowed to accept deposits from a potential customer without first establishing that all appropriate checks have been done first. The Books do not have a leg to stand on in refusing to return deposits obtained without their checks being satisfied first
