The problem is that Celtic and Rangers have a free pass into Champions League every year and will never give it up and who can blame them.

I agree 100% but at the time they wanted in, which was about twenty + years ago, they’d have given a good account of themselves and all the time been lapping up the financial returns, which they just don’t have now.  I’ve said it on here before, Scottish football is a sad remnant of past days.  The gulf between us and EPL is enormous.

Why would anyone compare english fitba with scottish.....5 million population against 60 million.......with gangsters in charge of most english clubs due to very lax ownership rules and tv companies doling out untold millions..

having said that scottish football is as bad as i can ever remember......we cannot even compete with comparable Scandinavian neighbours on and off the pitch.

It’s been compared for as long as I can remember and I expect that will always be the case. It’s a superiority thing!

Gloat away!    It is a more recent change though.  Up until the 80’s there was little enough in it.  When I was late teens and into my twenties promising Scots were still being signed up by English clubs.  That’s been gone for thirty odd years.
Bulgaria produced Stoichkov, Yugoslavia Stokjovic, Denmark the Laudrups.  We need to find one of them.
