I’ll be there for the two days. Personally think Nicholls might have a very Good Friday. Lots of his have needed the run, especially Quebecois who is my fancy in the 2.20. Think he’ll have 3 or 4 winners.

lookes as tho horse im differentte ownership now thanne whenne were with #Venetia. colours similarishhe tho. dunno whatte to make of thatte horse goes well at course: come thirdde there 2 runs bacjke in soft ground Cl2 chase over ye ~3m trippe.. will ignore last time out run as was over ~30f at Cheltenham andde perhappes thatte was too farre.... goes well after absence.... could have improvedde for switch to Fergal O'Brien stable, andde won't have Maxwell uppe... four chase runnes... won firstte two on close to good going, with bothe at approx 3miles.. ticjkes enough boxes iffe grahndde turnnes uppe good, 'r v close to itte, thenne Champagne Twist 11/2 mightte do as a winne bette, on what'll be justte second chase go for Ben Pauling 7-y-o.. wonne over hurdles atte course over ~2.5m on groundde, supposedly close to heavy, in March lasdte yr... ahnyroade, methinkkes wanttes no worse'n good 2 softte to figure in this.. #opinionness  currentte price okay enuffe, notte o'erly #friendlee... leavin' offe at min anyhoo otherwise, race lookes very open, but Skelton fav Hidden History do look opposable at 7/4, imo.... cardde lookes tricjky overall ha'e a good daye oote, HN andde all who's venturingge t'course #IsleOfWight #Idislikewongge g'l :) |

Hope nobody took the 11/8 on Doyen Quest early this week.7/1 currently
Still think Quebecois is the one. A bit of a boat on previous evidence, but can’t see many horses sprinting up the run in. Steady and relentless is the order of the day. |

Very strange market for the novice chase. Different ground from Exeter of course but Doyen Quest won 10 lengths and is 2lb better off with Quebecois who does prefer soft. Salver has not won for nearly 2 years and 7 runs admittedly in good races. Laurens Bay won a 2 horse race on his only chase start so might find this a bit more of a test of his jumping. I would make Doyen Quest and Quebecois joint favs. Don't forget how far Western Knight was behind them at Exeter.

Well, I will never lie on here as it's pointless.
They were my night before selections, I sometimes play the night before if I think the price is right but I decided to wait and play on course. Macktoad was roughly 15/2 biggest the night before. Opened way shorter on track...NO BET....Bolts in  Salver was roughly 7/2 the night before. Opened 11/5 if I remember rightly, and was well backed into 6/4...Missed it again so NO BET...Bolts in Across Earth was approx 5/1 the night before, Opened 3/1 and didn't drift.Bolts In... So, 3 winners selected but none backed. My plays were Enziya in the first, Krak in the second, Tormund Giantsbane in the third, Ind'Or in the fifth and Oceans Conquest in the last. Should have been a good punting day but ended up winnerless. Grabbed a picture with Nicky Henderson though so not all bad and was a nice day with a decent atmosphere. My mate mentioned it kicked off inside by the bar with approx 12 lads, I must have missed it. Did anyone see anything. Also, note to self...do not get the train back from Esher next time unless you are a fan of having your face shoved up some unknowns armpit for most of the journey. It was feckin rammo. |
